Zella Day, originally from Arizona, is one amazingly infamous artist, started playing her guitar since 9, she has already make her way into the music industry. Her latest EP, "Zella Day - EP", a 4 track EP, is simply beautiful.

Tracklist:
1. Hypnotic
I think the song stands out quite well. Like the title, this song really "hypnotic". Zella Day sure knows how to play her vocal along the slightly country-pop music; however, lyrically, the song doesn't stand out as much as the other 3 tracks in the EP.
2. Sweet Ophelia
Ophelia, a fictional character from Shakespeare's work, and I have a feeling this song talks about Ophelia's loss of 'innocence'. Since the repetition "Sweet Ophelia/ When young blood escapes/Vows are break/Go up, up away" might actually be something Zella is trying to emphasize the story of Ophelia. Not to mention, in the second verse, she sang
"Singing like it's a full moon/Careless that he has you" might mean that Ophelia got 'careless' with a male stranger got into with. Overall, this song might be telling a story of Ophelia, and I have to say, this is one amazing song, with a story and histroy behind it.
3. Compass
Soft piano opening the song alongside with her soft voice, plus the beautiful lyrical message. This is definitely one awesome song, with chorus "Compass point you home/ Coming from the East/ Compass point you anywhere/ Closer to me", speaking of how 'he' aches of Zella's absence. A simple beautiful romantic song speaking of how 'he' wants to unite with Zella.
4. East of Eden
This might or might not be something surprising, but I think "East of Eden" might actually be related with "Compass". Oh, and also, Eden in this song might actually be related to the Garden of Eden, which is written in the Bible, in where Adam and Eve ate the apple, and escaped there. "Keep me from the cages under the control/ Running in the dark to find east of Eden" might actually mean that she wants to escape from the prison she has always been caged and run into the darkness although she might have no knowledge of what it might be.

Overall, with mixture of classical story, religion, and love, plus her special talent for mixing a bit of folk, acoustic, and pop, alongside with her Lana del Reysque vocals, this is one awesome EP. And obviously, it's an EP, so there won't be much tracks in it, and this EP has given enough satisfaction for me to eagerly wait for her album. You guys should try listening to it, with the audio I've shared alongside the critics for each track, and I hopefully make your ears satisfied, or maybe you might wanna download the song for personal listening...
