Hey there, this would probably be one of my "How I'm Currently Feeling" posts. Ok, first of all, I started my studies for the second term and yes, it ain't easy, but was fun to learn something. Currently learning Bioinformatics, Molecular Cell Biology, Physiology, Math, Chemistry, and Physics, and for the first day of "Back to School", getting 2 essay homework and 2 presentations to be prepared might sound kind of dreading, but of course, I loved what I'm learning and that won't change much about how I think about my studies. Besides, new lab projects are going to be done, like the DNA extraction and such. I've done DNA extraction before during my high school time, and most of my classmates failed the experiment. After listening to my lecturer, I just realized that we had forgotten some important steps which is necessarily needed for DNA extraction, but the past is the past, what I can do now is just to prevent the old mistakes from happening again.
Anyways, some of you might be able to relate to how it sucks to be in school, doing homework, and presentations and such. However, this morning, I just watched THIS VID , and it made me think that most of us are complaining how miserable our lives are needing to study and feel as if it's a MUST to study. I know some of us sucked in studies, but actually, if we put more effort into it, we are able to pass through these obstacles. One problem I realized when I was learning Bioinformatics is that most people don't care about the lecture because it was a new and harder module, and I was also like them - BORED. But, as time goes on, I realized that we have made a huge mistake, and we are here for a purpose, not only to sit and listen to our lecturers, but also to gain more experiences. When my MCB (Molecular cell biology) teacher told us that these are mostly about practicals, and my Bioinformatics teacher told us we should focus more on the main point of the topic, I realized that if we could just think again why we took this class and stop mumbling about the 6 hours of sitting and listening, we could actually learn some important stuffs which will increase our chances of being employed. Yes, some people do not need to study and get famous, BUT think again, they DO not study, HOWEVER, they HAVE the will and vision to achieve their goals, and of course, goals without actions are nothing but dreams. So, how they get famous? It's because they KNOW what they are going to achieve and DO to achieve, unlike kids nowadays, they have this misconception that they are wasting their time in school learning, not knowing about their future whether they are gonna be famous or not, while the iconic people like Bill Gates doesn't need to study and gets famous. Well, think again, SOMETHING needs action, and you don't expect people would hire uneducated people who might gave higher chance of screwing their career. Yes, some of us are business minded, but remember, for everything that goes up, it must come down, and one day, you might need to find jobs which needs educational degrees and stuffs.
So, I won't go too long on this post, 'cause I'm probably gonna end up repeating the same stuffs. Conclusively, guys, we all do stuffs for certain reason. We study not to get good grades, but to gain more knowledge and experience, 'cause in this cruel life, practical and experience are the ones determining your chances of getting employed. The theories you memorized line from line, word to word, is most probably gonna be used too, but not much. Even as a teacher, you need experience to teach well. So remember, enjoy your studious life while you can, 'cause once you miss it, it won't come back, for life isn't a music player where you could just replay all the songs you like.
