Yes... ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficiency Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). It's something I just knew when I started watching Nigahiga's videos. If you dunno who Nigahiga is, he's a Youtube personality, I get why you dunno him if you're new to Youtube, 'cause he's a pretty old "Youtuber". Anyhow, ADD is a disorder mainly characterized by inattentiveness, and Nigahiga was able to use this to his advantage.
Now, scientifically, like any disease, ADD has various types, and although they target the brain in different areas, mostly the prefrontal cortex and cerebellum primarily, but also the anterior cingulate, the temporal lobes, the basal ganglia, and the limbic system (depending on the type of ADD).
Of course, for those who still have no idea what ADD is like... it's kinda like you get bored with everything like... super fast. I can't give an example that relates universally 'cause we all get bored easily, but something about ADD is different. I'll give a personal example, I know some teachers repeat once or twice what they have taught in order for students to have that knowledge implanted in their brain, but for me, if I find any of his/her words unamusing, I would usually think of other stuffs, like; "Why is the 'EXIT' sign color green? Why not red or yellow? I mean it takes more attention.", or "I wonder how people invented lasers. I mean, maybe kids were playing using paper and blocking light sources, but they accidentally made a hole, and the light that goes out of it is more focused compared to the others, and if the rays were more focused, it can produce laser. Does it?" EVENTHOUGH they are talking about how cells undergo mitosis. Oh wait, I found a good example..
And that goes on until my teacher skips to the next slide. It's pretty disturbing how I can't pay full attention to my lecturers. Even my friends said I always sleep in class or playing my phone while the teacher is discussing stuffs. Hence, as a result; I tend to miss some parts, which is why I love my teachers who gives full effort to teach and no breaks. TBH, I prefer no breaks, 'cause when I get a 15 minutes of nothing to do, I will just sleep. And when I wake up, my mind feels like it just woke from eternal sleep, and I have no idea what I am studying, kinda like Sleeping Beauty, she knows nothing after she got pricked by the needle and when I say know nothing, I REALLY MEAN IT. Of course, my inattentiveness isn't really bad, like if I need to do something, as long as I put full effort to give attention, I will finish it directly. But some stuffs are just way too time consuming for me to wait. Well, thinking back again, I might be a bit too impatient, but then again, it was so boring, so I guess it wasn't my fault at all.
Now, there are ways to cure this disorder, but different ADD requires different treatment. Similar to flu, not all flu are the same. For me, I would usually do meditation and it really works, which is why I love doing it when I feel too active or too tired. Some types of medications for classic ADD.
Anyhow, I'll be honest, I only made this post because I need to get this out of my head, when I'm supposed to be studying to catch up my lectures. See, I finished this post! :D
And you'll probably see less of this kind of posts if any new songs, books, or anything that attracts my attention, 'cause new stuffs will usually take over me, and I just become a robot and start making a post about it. Not sure if you could see through the patterns of posts I have, but you'll see why...
Ok, I seriously gotta study.
